(Belated) 03/2009 Pet(s) of the Month: Duke and Toby

Duke and Toby are this month’s Pet of the Month, and for good reason:

Duke is a one year old Rottweiler who gives a good name to a much-maligned breed.  He is quick to learn, eager to please, plays well with others, is very sweet and loving, and has a great sense of humor.  He always greets me with a big smile and wants nothing more than to be your best friend.  He would make an excellent ambassador to the world on behalf of the Rottweiler breed.  This is him, sitting at (erm…on) his desk, getting ready to be an ambassador. –>  deskdog2

Toby, a 3 year old DSH, takes all of Duke’s youthful energy in stride–in fact, he pretty much takes everything in stride.  Possibly the most imperturbable cat I’ve ever met, Toby is alright with just about anything, as long as he gets his breakfast and dinner, and gets lots of lovin’s in between.  His favorite activity is cuddling, whether it be with his owner, his Rottweiler, or whatever other human happens to be in his house at any given time.  Other activities include opening all cabinet doors (think the kitchen scene in Sixth Sense) and inspecting their contents, pretending to steal Duke’s toys and then letting him steal them back, and sleeping with his paw wrapped around his face.   He is a kind and benevolent master, but he is master of his domain nonetheless!
