Ok, I’m a day late on this one, so let’s just pretend that today is June 31st, mkay?
I spent the month of June with Kris and Donna S.’s three delightful Greyhounds. They are all sweet, goofy, quirky, affectionate, lazy, hilarious buggers, with their own special personalities.
Grayson is a trooper who survived cancer and the resulting chemotherapy and amputation of his right hindleg. Other than the missing leg, you’d never guess that he is a geriatric cancer survivor. He is the unrivaled boss of the pack, making sure Radley keeps his head on his own bed and that Trixie knows that he gets to go out to backyard first. But he’s never aggressive and always a sweet, benevolent leader. And he LOVES his people. Very sweet, affectionate boy, who’s always happy to greet you when you come home and give lots of love.
Trixie is the firecracker of the group. She is a spunky little monkey and will do anything for food, including counter surfing, so everything gets locked up tight in the house, or she’ll get it. She’ll also do pretty much anything for attention. Her favorite pastime is walking at your heel while leaning against your hip, ensuring maximum contact. She might be a bit nutty, but she’s the sweetest little nut this side of the Mississippi.
Radley might look innocent in this photo, but he’s the little stinker of the group! If you leave anything in the room with him unattended, he will chew on it like the goat-dog he is. “Dr. Destructo” would be another good name for him. He gets away with it, though, because he’s so darn charming and goofy and freaking adorable that you can’t stay mad at him for more than approximately half of a nano-second. And like the other two, he’s so affectionate he’ll make anyone’s heart melt!
I’ve really loved spending the month with them, and look forward to spending more time with them again in the future!
